Topping has released a refreshed version of their most affordable D/A converter called D10s. Little has changed in terms of looks and build. The aluminum body comes in two different choices of color – silver and black. The front is again dominated by the big OLED display with orange digits.
Connectivity remains the same with only USB in but two digital outs – SPDIF optical and coaxial. What’s different then you ask. Well, just the heart of it – the D/A converter chip got an upgrade to Sabre ES9038Q2M from the previous ES9018K2M. Topping also claims new and improved noise and cross-talk figures.
You can see the full list of changes in the following table:
Price took a small hike compared to the original D10 and it’s now sitting at $99, which I consider very reasonable given the updates.
My test unit is already on its way so be sure to check in for a comprehensive review that’s coming soon (thanks to HiFiGo). Until then, here are few more pictures and a full spec list of Topping D10s.

Hello,
I just acquired the Topping E30 and I am getting used to AKM DAC chip…I had a 6 yo DAC with ESS Saber but E30 beats it in many areas but I wish the E30 had more hair on top/more body on top. HOW DOES THE E30 COMPARE TO THE NEW D10S, SONICALLY? WHIC ONE IS CLOSER TO A CHORD?
Thanks
Hi Peter, I’m still waiting for my D10s unit to arrive. International shipping is a kind of drag these days but hope to get it soon and report back on its sound.
All the best!
